Vaccinations / Influenza / Recommended Risk Groups

RECOMMENDED RISK GROUPS FOR INFLUENZA VACCINATIONS

 
  • Those aged 65 years and older

  • Those with chronic pulmonary (including asthma), cardiovascular (except hypertension), renal, hepatic, neurological, haematological or metabolic (including diabetes mellitus) disorders

  • Immunocompromised individuals (including those receiving immunosuppression or people living with HIV)

  • Pregnant women (all trimesters) or those who could become pregnant

  • Residents of chronic (intermediate or long-term)-care facilities

  • Healthcare personnel

  • Morbidly obese patients (BMI of 40 or greater)

  • Household contacts and caregivers of children younger than 5 years of age and adults 50 years of age and older

  • Household contacts and caregivers of people with medical conditions that put them at higher risk for severe complications from influenza
